Purpose of a Room

Hi everyone! How is the cleaning going?

I wanted to share something I learned from this book by Peter Walsh, an organizing professional.

Here is the thought that caught my eye.

"When the purpose of a room is lost, clutter follows."

I love this quote, because I've found it to be true.  Walsh advocates a purpose-base house, where you decide what a room is best used for before you decide what goes in the room. Anything that doesn't match the room's purpose has to go.

Walsh encourages families to talk together to determine what the purpose of each room and space should be. If a collective dicision is made, a room (and it's stuff) will stay true to it's purpose.

Here are two more pages from the book that can really help in determining what a room's purpose should be. If you want to know more, you can find the book at the library.
